La Cinematographie Francaise 1937

A lovely magazine, or so I'm guessing as it is all in French and I can read NOT a word of it.  A few nice pictures related to Miss Ginger Rogers caught my eye...

La Cinematographic Francaise  April 30, 1937
Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire star together in Swing Time or "Sur Les Ailes de la Danse".

And Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire starring in Shall We Dance.  (I guess you can't say that in French.)

The posters were in the same issue of La Cinematographie Francaise from April 30, 1937; made available by the Media History Digital Library:

Maybe the movies were released at the same time in France?  The posters were part of a large advertising spread by RKO Radio Films that also included Mary of Scotland, Gunga Din and Mickey Mouse et les Silly Symphony.

Pardon all the missing accents but, as I said, my French is rather non-existent as well.

  1. Well, not really sure why it took so long for me to get over here, 'e', but...better late than never! Thanks for your support and info, and it's great to see another 'GingerBlog'... ....someone wanted to know once if I thought other Ginger blogs were 'competition' for G-ology...er, heck no!!! They are AWESOME resources and provide more 'links - paths' for folks to 'stumbleupon' the awesomeness that is Ginger Rogers!!!! I wish every other blog was 'Gingery'!!!!

...btw...cool posters! Reminds me that I need to get rolling again on the 'film blogs'... stuff like this will be 'archived' in those, hopefully to great effect...

Keep up the great work, 'e'!!!

    AAANNDDD.....

    KIG!!!

  2. ...BTW, your 'header' pic is awesome....Brunette Ginger is in so many ways...my fave....don't ask why... not enough time, space, and verbiage to explain it... but, not that Blonde Ginger isn't superbodacious as well, of course... really no wrong answer...

    1. Thanks for stopping by! I agree with the 'more blogs about Ginger the better' idea. The more the merrier or the more the Gingerier :) I put all the stuff you see here together on this blog just because I had SUCH a hard time finding all of it on archive.org. I figured this might help more people find Gingery items and encourage them to want more. That's what it does to me - heehee.

If anything on here helps on the film blogs that would be extra cool. I'm looking forward to those. I think they will make a great archive for all Gingerologists and for those who have yet to discover the wonders and beauty of Ginger Rogers! If you run into anything you think should be part of The Ginger Rogers Resource, don't be shy to point it out.

I love the picture I put at the 'header'. I don't know why exactly but when I saw it, I said, 'That's the one.' I have some videos on You Tube of Ginger too. You can find them searching for erosenplatt. The channel is called All About Ginger Rogers.

I'll be KIG, so you do too!!!

    2. ...great stuff! Yeah, I am probably going to be getting going on the 're-vamping' of the site (nothing scary or earth-shattering, but...mainly the filmblogs...) - hope to get Roberta out THIS weekend...looking pretty favorable with another 3-day weekend....ans heck, it snowed here today...took 2 hours to get home -usually 30 minutes... folks here in South Gingerville do NOT understand how to drive in icy snow conditions...I'm no expert at all, but, I know you can't fly thru everything like usual.... ok no more soapbox about that...

KIG, 'e'...things hopefully things will get popping over at G-ology soon...
